Flat Sally in San Francisco

Sally showed up in the mail and we spent the whole day together! We started the day by doing some stretches before going for a walk:

After that we started walking up one of San Francisco's famous hills. This one is called Bernal Hill.

The orange flowers are called Poppies, and they are the California state flower! You can see downtown San Francisco off in the distance. That's where uncle Curtis lives!

After that we needed to go to the post office to mail a package for work. On the way there we passed this famous house on my block. It's called the Sunset Idea House, and it's famous because of how environmentally friendly it is. As you can see, there is even a windmill that creates electricity!

A few blocks later we made it to the post office. Sally tried to slip into my envelope and leave early, but I knew we had a lot more of San Francisco to see!

On the way back home we took a few pictures in my neighborhood. I live in one of the most colorful areas of the entire city! Painters like to create art on the sides of the buildings here. These paintings are called "murals". This first one is a playground for children.

A little while after we got home, my friend Mary drove over to pick us up. We were going to go to her mother's birthday party across the Golden Gate bridge! On the way to the bridge we passed City Hall:

Unfortunately Sally lost her sash on the windy street here! The wind is one of the things San Francisco is famous for, just like Chicago!

Finally we made it to the Golden Gate bridge!

We even took a video of sally crossing it:

From the the other side of the bridge there are beautiful views of San Francisco!

Sally tried to steer the car but Mary told her it wasn't safe!

Then we made it to the birthday party and had cake!

After the party we took Mary's sister to the San Francisco airport. She was going to fly back home to Los Angeles:

Once we dropped her off, we didn't know what do. "Let's go to the beach!!!", we decided. Sally loved the beach, and the spring flowers were beautiful!

After the beach we were all very hungry! We found a Mexican restaurant that served Sally's favorite...pancakes!! Outside the restaurant Sally met Flat Jose! She was happy to have a new flat friend, even if he was much much bigger than her!

It was such a beautiful day, so we decided to stay out in the sun at a nice cafe nearby. The back patio had a garden that was incredible!

We noticed a bee very close to Sally, but she wasn't worried. She said usually they won't bother you if you don't bother them.

We went to the grocery store after this, and when we tried to take a picture there with Sally, we realized that she was nowhere to be found! The only thing we could think of was that she was still in that beautiful garden because she didn't want to leave! We dropped our groceries off at home and walked all the way back over the hill to the cafe. There she was, but not where we left her!

It was nighttime by now, and the cafe patio was still so beautiful that we decided to stay even longer.

Eventually we had to leave, but Sally wanted to make one more stop. There was a jazz music show going on, and we loved it!

Sally wanted to take one last picture of the view from the hill on the way home. We had so much fun together, it was quite an adventure! Hopefully she'll come visit and bring Megan with her someday!
